Historians India is a scholarly organization established in 2021 with the aim of promoting historical research, critical inquiry, and academic collaboration across India and beyond. Based in the historic town of Abhaneri, Dausa (Rajasthan), the organization provides a platform for historians, researchers, educators, and history enthusiasts to engage with the past in meaningful and diverse ways.
We believe in inclusive and interdisciplinary approaches to history, covering a wide range of themes—social, political, cultural, economic, and intellectual. Our goal is to foster dialogue between Indian and international scholars, and to contribute to a deeper understanding of history’s relevance in the contemporary world.
Our monthly publication, "The Historian", serves as a space for fresh perspectives, original research, reviews, and debates. We also proudly contributed as a co-authoring institution to the book “Colonial Mindset Hampering India’s Success”, addressing the lingering impact of colonial thinking on modern India.
Historians India is affiliated with renowned international organizations including the International Social History Association (ISHA), the International Economic History Association (IEHA), and the International Committee of Historical Sciences (ICHS).
